F@%ck.. school is ....HARD!!!!

School is ridiculously hard. I never thought that school can be this hard. Than in my humanities class our teacher explained that Humber is just a level below university. Basically Humber college ranked #1 in 4 out of 5 categories as the number 1 college in all of Canada and U.S . No wonder out marking system goes by the American system. Which means that 50% is no longer a pass. It's 60%... 70% is a C and 80% is a B only 90%-100% are considered A's... Yep that's how it is in the states folks. Sigh* I feel really lousy now..... Just a couple of days ago I looked at my george brown certificate- diploma thing and it said " congratulations for achieving Honours." Some honors psst.. I only got like and 82% averge and now I realize that in Humber that is like a B- instead of and A-. I miss george brown... It was such an easy college I had so much time to play with my friends after school. George Brown was easier than high school... it was a great place where even exchange students from taiwan who have been just 1 year in canada could get A's in their english classes lol..
Anways... I have just finished working for 15 hours straight on this 3D assigment. I had to model a camera in a program called 3D max.... it's my first time using such thing... so I really stuggled... I hope it looks ok though---> picture under neath : > The teacher suggested anywhere from 20-40 hours that we should spend on this thing~.

However, regardless of the difficulty level I am enjoying some of my classes. I think that the photoshop class, and art fundamentals is my favorite classes. Even though the art fundamentals teacher is funny and kind he is kinda strict... I mean I did my 2 point perspective drawing for over 6 hours, with super duper careful shading and all and he still found mistakes and told me to correct some minor things... In GB college i spent just 2 hours max on these things and got A's T.T. There are students form other art colleges like sheridan and some other advanced programs who are also struggling so Im glad that im not alone. >.<

Well then I actually have like 10 hours of more home work.... no sleep for me ... luckily it's thanks givigs weekend for me so.... I can sleep a bit tomorrow...
Please leave me comments, tell me is my 3D max modeled camera looks okay?! I had to model it from all the sides so I kept looking at the real camera for hours and even now I still don't think I got all the little deatails... hopefully my teacher will help me on wednesday... nooooo another 4.5 hours computer class and then 3 hours of drawing class= 8 hours of school= sould be illegal.

  1. Maaaaan, you really are struggling there, aren't you? That marking system is worse than here at York university where 80% is still a solid A-. But umm... perhaps the good side of all this is that it will motivate you to try to achieve something even better? You know, to get that perfectionist to come out of you.. =D

    But the big minus side is obviously endless hours of homework. 15 hours? Crazy stuff. Hang in there! Will you have a decent break in December to give you enough time to recuperate.

    I'm not a professional at 3D modeling, but I suppose you could add more details to that camera that are still missing. That's the best advice I can give ya. Sorry~ ^^;

  2. Thanks for the advice :D yeah Im missing a lot of little details... and that's because I only worked for 15 hours and not 40 like im suppose to.. well i have a week until it's do. Im gonna wait for the teacher to check the wiring under neath before I do any more work...

    I think I get 2 weeks in december for a break and also a reading week in february... arghghh I realy wanna go back to graphic design.. it was much easier... They have a graphic design/ advertising program in humber that I am so tempted to switch over to in january but my friends are telling me to not.. after all i did spend like 900 bucks on software so I think i'll just stick it out for the next two year.. january programs all run till august and I don't wanna give up my summer >.<

  3. Humber is ranked #1 in 4 out of 5 categories as the number one college in Canada & US? O_O Really? What were the four categories it did well in, and what was the other category? Do you know?
